ADAM'S STORY

READY FOR TAKEOFF!?!

READY FOR TAKEOFF!?!

"Happy to say my initial goal was achieved!"

ADAM'S PARENTS:

When I first reached out to Jason for information, we were looking for a trainer to help develop the foundational strength that would translate to game situations. Adam had some goals he wanted to achieve. He had recently experienced a growth spurt, adding height, but needing to add strength and size to match it. He also had some niggly knee pain that we wanted addressed.

When I heard the necessary investment, coupled with all the other activities we were putting Adam into, there was a concern on our side - will this be worth it?

3 months into training together I can certainly say the results have matched the promise.

Together, we came up with a road map to get Adam ready for the basketball season over the course of the summer months. We set out to get Adam stronger, with less injury risk, and most importantly CONFIDENT on AND off the court. Every week we see him come closer and closer to those goals. I haven't heard a complaint about knee pain since we started together. He is definitely a force to reckon with on the court, with the resilience to be more and more explosive, and confidence to take control in uncomfortable scenarios.

As a parent, I really like that we’ve transitioned to Adam being more and more independent over the last months, and I’ve been able to take a back seat from coordinating the sessions and watch him thrive. We would love to see Jason continue to push Adam out of his comfort zone, challenge him even more, and continue to encourage healthy habits that stick even when times get tough.

Adam's Testimonial:

I reached out to Jason after I strained my hamstring pretty badly playing soccer mid season. We play on the same team and asked for his expertise and assistance with getting back to fitness before playoffs came around, so that I could play at the level required to help the team.

Normally with a strain like this I usually opt for physio or would use whatever massage gadgets or cooling/heat packs. With physio experts, they’d try to get me back to playing by making the area superficially feel better without preventing the issue from happening again. Generally this was using some sort of external tools and various machines. This time, I wanted to really address the root cause which Jason and I identified together as weakness in the hamstring muscle, but also in the surrounding area (lower back, calves, quads). This was something new to me as I am no expert in the physiology of the body and its muscles, joints, etc.

I was honestly pretty skeptical at the start whether this would work. Less than 6 weeks later, I played the last three games of our season, gradually increasing my minutes each week. What was more encouraging was how great I felt after the games. After using Jay’s exercise and recovery program, my hamstring felt stronger with no issues, and I’ve even found some strength through the lower back too.

The biggest turning point for me was the precise, constructive and instant feedback when sending in form check videos, along with explanations of WHY we did every movement. There was also a big focus on making sure the movements were comfortable for me, and alternatives were provided in case something didn’t feel right.

I would love to see even more explanations on each movement as it really helped me connect the dots from the work we do in the weight room all the way to the ultimate goal of getting back to playing pain free.

Happy to say my initial goal was achieved!
